Contingency Engine
A downloadable game
We, the people, have the power. Build a world through direct action, relationships, and the belief that yes, we can.
With 1d6 and an optional d8, 3-8 players and a facilitator (optional, strongly recommended) will launch a mission to protect against encroaching political repression.
Using simple dice mechanics and collaborative storytelling, players practice critical decision-making skills while balancing security, effectiveness, and community care. Built on real organizing principles and historical precedents, this framework transforms complex political education into accessible, hands-on learning experiences.
You are invited to create new themes and adjust to suit your whim. Maybe your version has farm animals defending against commercial agriculture, pirates conducting a mutiny, high schoolers evading parents, or historical resistance fighters. You choose.
The price is a suggested donation. If there is ever need for more community copies, please just message me and let me know.
