About Me

I’m a queer Korean transracial adoptee, and I make games and gatherings that help people rehearse the relationships they want.

I’m interested in what a structure can hold, like grief, loss, play, and care, and how a few rules on a page can give people permission to imagine together. My games are small and made to be handled: print-and-play booklets, drawing prompts, journaling pages, and table sessions where people build a world together. In The Present, players draw as their younger selves with their non-dominant hand, then answer in writing as who they are now. The wobble in those drawings is the point. 

I bring these games into rooms that need them: trauma care with the Altadena Wellness Group for Eaton fire-affected communities, partnership with the Downtown Women’s Center, and work with Project Sister and RAINN supporting survivors of sexual violence, which earned a City Commendation. I host Creative Coalition, a monthly mindful play session, and write Light Hive, a newsletter on play, care, and belonging.

My masters and doctoral research centered on interactive identification--after which I supplemented with non-profit research on representation in international tv, commercials, movies, and games. Now, in addition to teaching at UCLA, I use my powers for good: I create brave spaces and inclusive, empowering experiences to help deep thinkers play, playful folks get mindful, and everyone breathe, fail, and skip the next world into being.
